Eminem's "Lose Yourself" in American Sign Language Is Incredible
Giving Eminem a run for his money! A woman named Shelby Mitchusson recently put on a captivating performance of the rapper’s Oscar-winning 2002 hit “Lose Yourself,” performing the track in an entirely different way.
Mitchusson, who has experience as a sign language interpreter, recorded a simple but stunning video of herself standing against a blank wall and performing the lyrics to the 8 Mile soundtrack’s single in American Sign Language. The young woman opens the clip miming the movements of playing the piano, tapping her fingers to the melody that accompanies the rhymes.
She mimics Eminem’s strong tone, swaying as she begins to sign, “Look, if you had one shot or one opportunity / To seize everything you ever wanted in one moment / Would you capture it, or just let it slip?”
Catching the beat, Mitchusson continues with electric movements, signing, “His palms are sweaty, knees weak, arms are heavy / There’s vomit on his sweater already: mom’s spaghetti / He’s nervous, but on the surface he looks calm and ready / To drop bombs but he keeps on forgetting / What he wrote down, the whole crowd goes so loud / He opens his mouth but the words won’t come out / He’s choking, how? Everybody’s joking now / The clock’s run out, time’s up, over – blaow.”

The video, which Mitchusson originally posted last September, picked up steam in recent weeks after gaining views on YouTube and charting on Reddit.
The Austin, Texas, native explained her inspiration for the recording earlier this month, writing in a YouTube comment, “I have a deep love for interpreting music and would love to share more as I am always interpreting music.”
