Here Comes Honey Boo Boo Cancelled After Child Molester Report

There goes Honey Boo Boo. The TLC series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo has been cancelled after four seasons following a report that its star "Mama June" Shannon is dating a registered sex offender, Us Weekly can confirm.

"TLC has cancelled the series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and ended all activities around the series, effective immediately," TLC tells Us in a statement. "Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children's ongoing comfort and well-being."

TMZ reported on Thursday, Oct. 23, that Shannon, 35, is romantically involved with a 53-year-old man named Mark McDaniel; Mama June says they dated 10 years ago. McDaniel was once allegedly convicted of child molestation involving Shannon's 8-year-old relative. He was sent to prison in June 2004 and currently lives in Georgia. TLC confirmed in a statement to Us on Thursday that the series was "not currently in production" amid the allegations. Shannon herself spoke out about the situation on her daughter Alana Thompson's official Facebook page on Friday, Oct. 24.

She added: "This is my past. I left him 10 [years] ago for it and I wouldn't go back."
