Rebel Wilson Launching Plus-Size Clothing Line With Torrid: Details

Rebel with a cause! Pitch Perfect 2 star Rebel Wilson is teaming up with plus-size fashion brand Torrid for a limited-edition clothing line to debut later this year, the company announced on Tuesday, May 12.

According to a press release, the plus-size “capsule collection” will launch in November — just in time for the holidays. “Rebel for Torrid” will feature 25 pieces ranging in price from $28.50 to $125, with tops, bottoms, jackets, dresses, and accessories.

Each will feature Wilson’s “personal touch,” the company noted, singling out details like a “koala-print tee” and “microphone-shaped hardware and charms.” Another collection for next spring is also in development.

“Rebel’s got a natural instinct for design. She’s been totally hands-on throughout the process,” Liz Munoz, Torrid senior vice president of design, said in the release. “She cares about every detail, down to the diamante rivet on the jeans. We love the results…she crushed it.”

The admiration is mutual. Joking that she’s had a “‘torrid’ affair with buying clothes,” the Bridesmaids actress, 29, said she was thrilled about the partnership.

“I’ve never really felt like there’s a brand out there in the plus-size world that is creating cool stuff, that fits well, and is good quality yet affordable,” she shared. “It’s really only been in the last few years that I’ve seen companies try. So it was awesome to team with Torrid, who I think are doing such a great job in making plus-size fashion relevant and dope.”
