Will Ferrell Hits Cheerleader in the Face With Basketball: Watch Here
Why, Will, why?! Comedian Will Ferrell nailed a cheerleader in the face and got thrown out of an NBA game on Wednesday, Jan. 21, but it was staged for his latest film.
The actor, 47, showed up during the intermission of the Los Angeles Lakers vs. New Orleans Pelicans game at the Smoothie King Center, to film a scene for his latest movie Daddy’s Home. Ferrell took center stage as he attempted (rather unsuccessfully) to make a half-court shot, when he ended up nailing a Pelicans cheerleader right in the face.
Security then rushed over to Ferrell, who was immediately “thrown out” of the game.
The entire scene was recorded by eager fans on Wednesday, some of whom were in the stands while other bystanders got an up-close look at Ferrell being escorted out of the venue.

Game attendees were also treated to Ferrell’s costar Mark Wahlberg, whose appearance was slightly more low-key on Wednesday.
Daddy’s Home will be released in late 2015. It stars Ferrell, Wahlberg, Hannibal Buress, and Linda Cardellini.
